I don’t know where Joe found this Clement character, but he’s led an erotically-charged life. He’s this older fellow with an English accent who shares his ribald sexual escapades over the years. We learn how he lost his virginity, how he got it on with a whore while on guard duty and about orgy parties in Hollywood. He’s a B&B man — boobs and brains — who craves voluptuous women. He tells it all with a sense of propriety. And the tales aren’t told to titillate. They serve as sort of lynchpins throughout his life, a life he appears to be reflecting back on, trying to tie it all together to arrive at some conclusion. Amusing and captivating.
