Joe's Library

A few years ago, we posted books from Joe’s library for sale—they quickly sold out. Since then, I’ve uncovered more to offer you.

Joe was an avid reader who gained insight and inspiration from his books. They became an important foundation for his own work. He treasured his books, but he did not treat them as too precious to use. He generously underscored and highlighted passages. He often listed topics on the back inside cover with page numbers for easy reference. At times, you’ll find phone numbers, fragmented sentences and more.

Most books have marginalia in Joe’s handwriting—others are heavily marked up. We’ve categorized the amount of markup as: very light, light, moderate, and heavy. Each of these books have been in Joe’s library since the day he purchased them. They range in date published from 1947 to 1999.

Each book comes with its own ***Certificate of Authenticity*** certifying that it came from Joe’s personal library and that all markings within are his.

Now, through these books, you can perhaps get a glimpse into Joe’s perspective and thought processes regarding a wide array of subjects.
