Larry tries to persuade Marilyn to let him drive to see her in Santa Barbara; Debi calls Joe from Manhattan and talks about her seduction of her girlfriend, then describes her relationship with Scott, who suddenly appears in her apartment during their conversation. Debi tells of Scott’s vile misuse of the bathtub. Joe tells a story of how, upon the death of his father, he took over the family business and late one night was confronted by a woman holding a mysterious box.
