While visiting the studios of KCRW in 1985 before he was hired, Joe sits in for his friend Dierdre O’Donahugh’s two-hour live show, ‘SNAP.’

Joe plays piano, sings, and provides commentary in between excerpts from his shows: “The Nightwatchman” and “Dreams of the River.”

Joe asks listeners to call in to give feedback on which version listeners prefer of “The Nightwatchman.” (All voices performed by Joe.)

He also requested listeners’ preference for a show title: “Dreams of the River” or “Portrait of a Dreamer”? (He went with “Dreams of the River.”)

The full show “When She’s Asleep, She Looks like an Angel” is aired.

All selections were created by Joe on reel-to-reel tape.
