A sketch of the luxurious Spanish-style compound in which Joe’s mother and adoptive father live. Anecdotal stories of his step-father’s gaffes and frugality, and the suffering they cause Joe’s mother. The progressive brain shrinkage of an admired friend, Conrad, which leads to his commitment in an asylum, is recounted, as well as Joe’s adopted father’s own illness, surgery and passing. (This is a remix of the show A Pact with God. Joe selected different music and re-recorded his voice tract for this show).
